Our History | Beechwood Vets

Our History

Beechwood Vets first came to Leeds when Roger Bouvet and Walter Butterfield established a practice in Crossgates in 1958, dealing with both farms and small animals.

As the Beechwood reputation grew, so did our client base. We opened a site on Harehills Lane, which in 1991 was moved to our Chapel Allerton clinic, followed by our Beeston Branch in 1975. In 1987 our Garforth site was added to the group, at around the same time that we began to concentrate solely on the care of pets and companion animals.

In May 2022 we opened a site at Temple House in Seacroft, which includes seven consult rooms, separate dog and cat waiting areas and wards, three theatres, a dedicated dental theatre and x-ray and ultrasound suites.

In August 2023 we added our site in Headingley to the Beechwood group and are looking forward to welcoming new clients to our family of practices.

Our teams now care for the Pets of Leeds In SeacroftBeestonChapel AllertonGarforthHeadingley and all the surrounding areas.

Our team has over 200 years of experience between them, and we are proud to have treated generations of family pets, building relationships in our communities with patients and clients.

All of which is underscored by our key ethos: to care for the pets of Leeds as if we are treating our own, with compassion and kindness.
